Course Coding Scheme & Credit Structure

Every course mounted by the University College is designated by a four-letter alpha prefix followed by a three-digit numeric code.

Prefix Designations

TUC
Institutional Foundation & University Core Courses.
BJDT
Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design Technology.
DJDT
Diploma in Jewellery Design Technology.
PD
Product Design and Entrepreneurship.

Numeric Conventions

  • First digit — academic level (1 = Level 100, 2 = Level 200, 3 = Level 300, 4 = Level 400).
  • Second digit — semester (1 = Semester 1, 2 = Semester 2).
  • Third digit — course sequencing.

Credit Limits

Full-time undergraduate students must register for a minimum of 15 credits and a maximum of 21 credits per semester.

The flagship four-year degree combining design theory, precision craftsmanship, gemmology and modern manufacturing (course codes BJDT 111–422 across Levels 100–400).
DJDT — Diploma in Jewellery Design Technology
A focused diploma pathway in jewellery design and fabrication (course codes DJDT 111–222).
PD — Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Product Design and Entrepreneurship
Industrial and product design grounded in human-centred design, entrepreneurship and AI-assisted workflows.
DMCD — Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Digital Media and Communication Design
Interactive storytelling and digital communication — motion, UX and modern media production.
Fashion Design Technology — Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
A four-year BTech building technical excellence and entrepreneurial skills for the contemporary fashion industry.

Short Courses

Short Courses are non-degree offerings that lead to a Certificate of Completion. They are not accredited degree or diploma programmes and are therefore not listed above.
